I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love sending and receiving holiday cards. I’m particularly a sucker for the cards with family photos. In years past we’ve just compiled photos from throughout the year to make our card. This year I really wanted some family photos taken specifically for our Christmas cards. I was worried though, with our move, that I wasn’t going to be able to find a photographer in time.
In a random moment of happenstance, I found out that Destructo’s daycare provider has a brother-in-law who’s a photographer. He happened to take some stunning catalog-worthy photos of our sweet baby and I scheduled a family session as soon as I saw the pictures.
After booking our session time and talking out details, he asked me to put together some thoughts on the types of shots I’d like. I figured, since I’m putting in the leg work, I may as well share it with you too. Here are the types of shots I’m leaning towards.

Whether you send out a holiday card or not, having family photos taken is a wonderful keepsake. Just think how fondly you’ll look back on these pictures in the years to come!
I can’t wait to see how our family photos come out. And of course, I’ll share my favorites with you on the blog.
